1LT Cindy Mason (now Young) getting ready to DEROS from Ward 5 & 6. She is shown here with her "turtle", 1LT Sandy Day. On the back of the picture, Cindy wrote:

"TNTC & Short"

She's a good kid; too bad she's stuck here.

Notice Cindy is not wearing the 24^th Evac's unit crest on her uniform. Instead, she is wearing the unit crest of the 5^th Cavalry, 1^stCavalry Division (Airmobile), the unit her future husband was serving with at the time.
