Summary - December 1966

December was a time of construction, especially installing medical equipment.

Right is the quadrangle with the ER, OR, and lab on the right with the mess hall and water tower in the distance.  Notice the lack of  covered walkways.  Compare this to what the hospital looked like from the air in 1971 and 1968.

Far right is the lab about the time of completion,

December 10 - 12

The 199th Light Infantry Brigade arrives in Vietnam and sets up its camp just north of  Long Binh.  The 199th LIB became one of the units supported by the 24th. (Source:  199th Light Infantry Brigade, Redcatcher 32nd Reunion.  MacDonald)


December 25
